Think you’ve seen it all?

From the recent Chilean election; this campaign promoting Gabriel Boric, a former student activist who, at 35 is now the country’s youngest president.

The ad was not an official one, sadly, but made by supporters. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s targeting the politically unengaged. “I don’t care what his policies are. I’m voting for him”.

The lyrics say ‘we’re inviting you to vote, let’s all vote’. Then it talks social services and science-based health care. So as to enhance credibility.

The Reed Awards

The Reed Awards focus on the latest tools, tactics, techniques, technologies & strategies in political campaigns. There are 16 categories and hundreds of awards. To name a few:

  • Best Application of Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning
  • Best Overall Use Of A Telephone Town Hall
  • Best Online Advertising Campaign on a Shoestring Budget
  • Best Bare-Knuckled Street Fight TV Ad
  • Best Villain in a Web Video

It’s international but there were no Australian winners last year.

This was the overall winner for a web video and this was the best TV ad. The 2020 awards are in February.
